Greer Hamilton (she/her/hers) is a Transitional Postdoctoral Fellow and incoming Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Her research interests focus on exploring how systems of oppression inform and shape the urban built environment and people’s relationship to places of meaning (e.g., neighborhoods). Part of her current work surrounds environmental health and justice issues, specifically working with community organizations and residents to develop mitigation strategies to address transportation related air pollution issues in the Greater Boston Massachusetts area. Her work also includes the use and integration of arts-based research methods and environmental arts (i.e., comic books, animated films, and poetry) to discuss personal and community level experiences related to environmental and climate issues. Greer holds a B.A. in Health and Human Services and a Master of Social Work from the University of Buffalo, State of New York, and a PhD in Social Work from Boston University.
